John Muir and friends founded this organization in 1892. Since then, it has been developing with new trails, parks, activities and missions. Located in the US, the Sierra Club has become one of the most influential, largest, popular environmental organization and has more than two million members supporting it!

The mission of the Club is to explore, enjoy and protect wilderness; to practice and promote responsible use of the earth’s ecosystems and resources; to educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment and to use all lawful means to implement these goals.

True to their word, they have made a huge impact on environmental issues by protecting acres of wilderness. In fact, just recently, they led the charge to convert from using fossil fuels (that cause climate disruption) to a clean energy economy. For members of the Sierra Club, finding ways to help conserve the environment is not a problem at all! This organization offers outings, accepts donations and engages in online communities.
